Let's do this 2013!!

I am an eternal optimist and ringing in the new year puts the feeling of optimism into overdrive.  2012 was a big year for us at Nannie Inez and we are so excited to start 2013.  After planning and waiting for nearly 3 years, we officially opened our shop at 2210 S. First St. St.  With the patience and focus that it took to build the brand, design the space, and seek out designers... it would seem that the opening of the shop was a sort of grand finale but the exciting thing is that it's only just the beginning.  We would sincerely like the thank everyone that helped make 2012 such a wonderful year.  In particular, we would like to thank Clarissa Hulsey Bailey for collaborating with us to develop a truly unique space that expresses our brand identity so perfectly.  Thank you so much to Drophouse Design and Kenneth Atkisson for being ridiculously talented and professional.  The fixtures that you built for us are truly amazing.  I literally smile from ear to ear when I walk into our shop.  I can't believe it's ours and it wouldn't have been the same without help from the three of you.

None of the amazing things that we created within the space would have been possible without an actual space.  If you have visited the blog before then you know that we searched and waited for a location for more than 2 years.  Casey Kopecky of The Weitzman Group thank you SO much for your help and patience.  You respected the fact that we are just 2 individuals starting a business with a major budget.  You never tried to push us into anything that didn't meet our needs.  You sought out only spaces that in your professional opinion would work with our concept.  You worked incredibly hard to secure the best possible terms for our lease.  I always felt as if your goal was to insure that we walked away with exactly what we wanted... and we did.  So Thank you!

Building our business in Austin, TX has been amazing and that is due to the fine people that call this place home.  We have loved getting to know our customers.  We have been blown away by the support shown to us by local press.  Thank you so much to Austin Home MagazineCulture MapAustin TidbitsThe Statesmen, Feliz Sale and Tribeza for being curious about our store and helping us spread the word.  The best part is that each article about Nannie Inez has been 100% spot on with our concept.  You get it!  Thank you!!

In 2012 we also launched NannieInez.com and we are thrilled with our new site.  Thank you Stephanie for the incredible design work that you did for our site.  You totally understand our brand and more importantly have incredible insight into the online world.  Your site design was a major factor in the development of our store concept.  Morry Belkin of Mbsquared, thank you so much for building a flawless site.  You have been incredibly easy to work with and have been so patient while we (meaning I) learn to manage and operate our site.  Meredith Peck, you are amazing.  Thank you so much for the branded material that you created for us and for your patience while I requested we tweak things only to go back to your original design!  Lindsay Mound you killed it with the design of our 'Make Yourself At Home' pamphlet.  Jessica Pages you are so talented with the camera.  Thank you for so beautifully capturing our space and for the Austin Home Mag photos.

Thank you to The Byrd Collective, The Wellgro Co, Fresas Chicken, Keith Kreeger and Smilebooth for asking us to participate in the Gather Event.  It was so much fun and the perfect launch for our shop.

Thank you so much to Adrienne Breaux, Caitlin Ryan and Anne Cambell for being so supportive of Nannie Inez from the very beginning.  To all of our friends, family, each person that has walked through our door, clicked like on our FB page, told someone about our shop, or Instagrammed Nannie Inez, your positive vibes about the shop mean the world to us.  We hope that in 2013, we can delight you with a friendly space and unique, one of a kind designs.  I am not yet a parent but launching Nannie Inez has been about the closest thing I can imagine to having a new born.  We've all heard the saying 'it takes a village' and I feel the same way about our shop.  We couldn't do it without you!  Thank you for making 2012 one of the best years of our lives. Wishing all of you a wonderful 2013.

  1. Such a delightful surprise to make it in such a grateful-filled post. And to think I'm still feeling guilty for not making it to any of your events yet! I appreciate the appreciation but let it be known: you and your store are easy to support because you and your store are so awesome! Excited for 2013 too!
